A geography guessing game built around real places

TommyTrace is a free browser-based geography guessing game. A round begins in Street View at a real location. Your job is to observe the scene, work out where you are and place a marker on the map. Distance determines your score, so a careful regional guess can matter even when you cannot identify the exact town.

The core challenge is observation rather than trivia. Road markings, driving side, language, architecture, utility poles, landscape, climate and signs can all become useful evidence.

WorldExplore locations across the wider world and use country-level and regional clues.
MalaysiaPlay a more focused regional challenge with stricter scoring and state-level variety.
SabahExplore a more local geography pool built around Sabah locations.
Classic or TimedPlay Solo without a timer or choose a 90-second timed round.

How scoring works

Each round can award up to 5,000 points based on how close your guess is to the real location. Across five rounds, strong observation and consistent guesses build your total score. Malaysia and Sabah use stricter regional scoring to keep closer local guesses meaningful.

More than solo play

TommyTrace also includes a Daily Challenge, Ranked DUEL and private multiplayer. The same core skill carries across every mode: read the environment, make a reasoned guess, then learn from the result.
